In our group we are interested in mechanisms of protein quality control. We study processes that deal with aberrant proteins, their recognition, subcellular trafficking and clearance by proteolytic machineries. In particular, we focus on the role of post-translational modifications with proteins of the ubiquitin family in these processes. Our research relies on a broad range of genetic and biochemical approaches which facilitates the identification of novel cellular mechanisms of protein homeostasis.
